Health Coach Advantage is a telephone-based professional health coaching service provided by Janet Solie PA, MS, IHC. I am a licensed physician assistant with over 20 years of clinical and teaching experience and have advanced training from Duke University’s Center for Integrative Medicine as an integrative health coach.

What I Believe
At Health Coach Advantage, I believe optimal health is possible for anyone entering a coaching relationship with a Duke trained integrated health coach. I am an experienced health care provider who now exclusively provides a coaching service in a client centered practice. The relationship with HCA clients begins with an initial long visit focused on the client’s own vision of their optimal health. The client defines their vision of desired health based on their personal values. I guide the client through a systematic use of Duke provided tools.

Many clients have spent a lifetime saving, planning and accumulating wealth for their later years through regular guidance from a financial planner. Yet until now, no one has had a conversation about creating a personalized optimal health plan for a richer, long life using a professional health coach. This is what I do at Health Coach Advantage every day.

Why Integrative Health Coaching?
I believe a quiet revolution is transforming healthcare called “integrative medicine.” This is an integration of the best of Western scientific medicine with a broader understanding of the nature of illness, healing and wellness. It puts the client at the center of the care and addresses the full range of physical, emotional, mental, social, spiritual and environmental influences that affect a person’s health. This means Health Coach Advantage clients set their own agenda for change in various health related behaviors. I bring the expertise, listening and guiding skills, accountability and tools to coach the client forward.

Integrated health coaching combines the holistic approach of integrated medicine with advanced training from Duke University in health coaching. The hallmark of integrative health coaching is working with the whole person, taking time to listen to the client’s concerns, asking powerful questions and using specialized skills to help motivate clients to achieve healthy lifestyle changes. Through a nonjudgmental coaching partnership, clients are empowered to reach their highest level of health. In addition, clients collaborate with their coach to identify obstacles to change and create strategies for forward movement. In the end, integrative health coaching inspires change by connecting people with a plan that supports their personal health vision, values and voice.
